As an Estimator working for a sub-contractor, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, based on your complete understanding of the project scope. The opportunity is open to any applicant that can demonstrate specific experience with architectural specialties and estimating.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Saint John, NB. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural specialties and a keen eye for detail. As an Estimator working for a sub-contractor, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, based on your complete understanding of the project scope. Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly review publications, project databases, and online platforms to identify and track potential project / bidding opportunities.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to gather necessary information.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Prepare and present cost summaries and proposals to clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and pricing.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost control strategies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience within the architectural specialties industry.
- Previous experience with roller shades, bathroom accessories & partitions, lockers or access hatches is considered an asset but not prerequisite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials handling, and cost control.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable to make phone calls and deal with people outside of the organization).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in Architectural Specialties to join our team. This position is open to applicants located in the Maritimes.
As a Senior Specialty Estimator, you will play a critical role in our project planning and execution development. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale architectural projects across Canada. Your extensive experience and expertise will be relied upon to develop new relationships in new markets while maintaining our reputation for excellence in existing ones.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the estimation process for complex architectural projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop detailed project plans and budgets.
• Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities associated with project estimates.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction methods.
• Present and defend estimates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
Qualifications:
• Background in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating for architectural specialties or related construction projects.
• Proven track record of successfully estimating large-scale projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar.
• Professional certifications, such as Construction Estimator Certified (CEC) or equivalent, are highly desirable.
